The purpose of a Resource Loop is to eliminate waste and  to keep products and materials in the value chain for a longer period and to recover raw materials after the lifetime of the products for their next use. A Resources Loop consists of multiple processes and involves different pathways.

The pathway of Industrial Symbiosis (pink) consists of products made by Producer A can be used again by Producer B as a material for different products.

The pathway of Recycling (blue and green) includes processes to the collection of segregated waste, material processing and recycled materials.

The pathway of Repair and Reuse (red) shown in the graphic entails the repair of a product and return it to use, or when it is impossible to restore it , remanufacture or  reuse of materials.
