‘Let’s talk about achievements’ was the heading of the Interreg Baltic Sea Region Programme Conference 2019, which brought together more than 300 participants from 13 countries over two-days (9-10 April) in Lübeck, Germany.

The goal of the conference was to share and learn from the achievements of projects co-funded by the 300 million euros invested by Intereg Baltic Sea Region with the aim of making the region more innovative, more accessible, and more sustainable.Read More

No climate solution without circular economy

The latest “Global Resource Outlook 2019. Natural resources for the future we want” (2019) presents some facts related with circular economy.

  • 50% of total emissions is related to material use: mining, transport, production of goods and waste disposal (see: Chart 1);
  • 90% of biodiversity loss and water stress are caused by resource extraction and processing;
  • From 2000 to 2015, the climate change and health impacts from extraction and production of metals doubled.

World Resource Forum Antwerp

At which took place from 24-27 February in Antwerp (Belgium) Joan Prummel and Emile Bruls from Rijkswaterstaat did a workshop on circular public procurement and green deals, together with Veerle Labeeuw from the Flemish waste agency OVAM. The workshop provided basic information on how to make procurement circular, how green deals can help and what strategies can be followed. On the event about 30 people participated. Contacts were laid with several participants which can be useful for the CPP project and establish links between the project and other European projects in which public procurement plays a role.

On the 11th December in Warsaw Circular PP Project staff from RRDA (Poland) took part in the Circular Economy event organized by INNOWO-Instytut Innowacji i Odpowiedzialnego Rozwoju. The main subject of the event was: “Systemic approach to the circular architecture – technologies and regulations”.
